THE VOICES
Of Underground Charlottetown
MARLEY DURANT
Writer & Editor
I am 21 from Nova Scotia. I lost my father this year to an overdose. Addiction effects everyone. This issue is not isolated and these stories have to be told. Because otherwise we are going to keep ignoring this issue.

People are dying on the streets of Charlottetown and many don't know what supports are out there for them.

TONY DOYLE
Writer & Content Creator
I am 36 and from the Island itself. I have struggled with my own addictions and have had to watch many of my friends do the same, but some have never gotten sober. I wanted to give my friends the opportunity to tell their stories.
MEET THE VOICES
Two Holland College Journalism students diving into the underground..
The project of Underground Charlottetown has been a team task done by Marley Durant and Tony Doyle.

Both of us have very strong connections to those struggling with addiction in Charlottetown.

Both of us have had individual experiences dealing with addiction and what it can do to not only yourself but family members too.

Both of us agree that more supports are needed on the Island for those who have fallen victim to these issues.

A lot of people on the Island don't even realize how serious this has become. That's why we wanted to do Underground Charlottetown.

There are so many stories that have yet to of been told about the real and scary struggles of what happens when you go homeless.

You're not alone, this will get better.

Welcome to Underground Charlottetown, it's our pleasure to give the homeless crisis a platform.
